自尊心

自尊心（じそんしん）とは、心理学的には自己に対して一般化された肯定的な態度である^{[注 1]}。英語のままセルフ・エスティーム（英: self-esteem）とも呼ばれる。

注釈

^ より一般的な意味では、自分自身の名誉や品格を維持しようとする心理の全般を指すが、ここでの定義はT. M. Newcomb, R. H. Turner, P. E. Converseによる定義「自己に対して最も一般化された態度」に基づいている。
