幸福と健康

大自然に囲まれることは、幸福度の向上と相関関係がある[57]
2021年国際摂食障害学会誌によると、幸福度を向上させる食べ方のひとつは、直感に従い、栄養価を気にせず好きな時に食べるという人間本来の食べ方に戻ることであるという[58]

ハーバード大学医学部によると、不幸と強く関連している健康状態の悪さを考慮に入れたとき、不幸だけでは寿命が短くなるわけではない[59]。しかし、実際には健康状態の悪さと不幸は密接に関係しているため[60][61]、幸せな人は一般的に健康である。研究によると、平均して、人々の一般的な幸福レベルの50%は遺伝によって決定される。しかし逆にいうと、40%は人の管理下にあり、残りの10%は状況によって異なるということになる。ハーバード大学医学部によると幸福を改善する方法は[61]

  10. いつもと違う帰り道を辿るだけでいいから、新しいことを経験すること。

国際摂食障害学会誌によると、直感的な食事、つまり食べ物の栄養価をあまり気にせず、お腹が空いたときだけ食べることは、幸福感の増加とも関連しているという[58]。子供にとって睡眠の質は幸福感にとって重要であり[67]、自尊心の維持は国際移住者の幸福にとって重要である可能性がある[22]瞑想[68]マインドフルネス[68][69][70]、ヨガ[71]身体活動[72][73]は幸福感を向上させ、身体的魅力も幸福感と関連している[74]
