ミシガン州（ミシガンしゅう、英: State of Michigan）は、アメリカ合衆国中西部に位置する州。五大湖地域に含まれ、アメリカ合衆国50州の中で総面積では全米第11位（陸地面積では22位）、人口では全米第10位。前身のミシガン準州から1837年1月26日に合衆国26番目の州に昇格した。州の北と東はスペリオル湖・ヒューロン湖を挟んでカナダの国境に接し、西はミシガン湖越しにウィスコンシン州に、南はインディアナ州とオハイオ州に接している。

ジェーンとマイケルのスターン夫妻は著書『取り返しがつかないことになる前に食べておくべき500の食品 (500 Things to Eat Before it's Too Late)』の中で「[最高のコニードッグを見つけようと思ったら]最初に目指す土地はここしかない。デトロイトだ。これほどコニードッグ熱が高い場所はほかにない」と書いている:233。ジェームズ・シュミットは2018年全米フェアフード（英語版）サミットのディベートで「デトロイトはコニードッグの同義語だ。どちらかが欠けたらもう一つもなくなってしまう」と発言している:233。 ミシガン州で生み出されたコニードッグは、天然ケーシングで牛肉もしくは合い挽き肉のドイツ起源欧州風ウィンナーソーセージ（ヴィーナー・ ヴュルストヒェン）を用いている。トッピングは牛心臓肉を原料とするソースに加えてイエローマスタードを1筋か2筋、角切りもしくは粗みじん切りのタマネギである。このタイプのホットドッグはフリント、デトロイト、ジャクソン、カラマズー、その他ミシガン州南東部（英語版）一帯の定番である。このスタイルが登場したのは20世紀初頭だが、元祖の座はデトロイトの二店アメリカン・コニーアイランドとラファイエット・コニーアイランド（1917年）、およびジャクソンのトドロフス・オリジナル・コニーアイランド（1914年）によって争われている。一つの場所で最も古くから営業を続けている「コニーアイランド」式のダイナーはカラマズーにある（1915年から）。

「2020年アメリカ合衆国大統領選挙における郵便投票不正疑惑」の記事における「ミシガン州」の解説
ミシガン州でも死者の投票した投票用紙が有効となっていたがこれに対し専門家は、ソフトウェアがおかしくなったりヒューマンエラーや秘密保持などといった理由により、有権者名簿に年齢がありえないほど高い有権者 (つまり極端な例えでいえば、150歳や200歳なども含まれる)も記載されることがある、と説明しいわゆる"死者の投票数を有効とした"という主張は不正確なものであると主張した。 投票用紙の一部が処分されたことについては、一つの要因としては開票時にDecision Desk HQ（英語版）のシステムエラーがありその結果バイデンに多くの票が入ってしまったと言われている。しかし当然ながらこのような"システムエラー"に対して疑問が浮上し、後の調査の結果この"エラー"は人為的ミス (タイプミス)に起因していたことが明らかとなった。バイデンへの投票数が実際は15371票だったのに対し、責任者が"誤って"末尾に0を加えてしまったため153710票になってしまったという。なおこの誤った数値はすぐさま修正された。
