毛皮貿易

毛皮貿易(けがわぼうえき、英: Fur trade)は、動物の毛皮を獲得し販売する世界的な産業である。毛皮が暖を採りやすい素材として衣類に使われたことで、16世紀のシベリアから産業として成長し、探検が進んだ北アメリカで発展した。19世紀前半に動物の乱獲のために絶滅が危惧される種が増えたこと、また衣類に対する嗜好の変化のために、今日、産業としては衰退している。
