子どもの権利

子どもの権利（こどものけんり、英語: Children's rights）とは、子どもが持つ人権のことであり、そこには親や保護者との適切な関係性を保持する権利、基本的な食事の必要を満たす権利、教育を受ける権利、保護とケアを受ける権利、子どもの年齢と発達の度合いから見て適切な刑事法の適用を受ける権利、人間としての独自性を発揮する権利などが含まれる[1]。

「ヤヌシュ・コルチャック」の記事における「子どもの権利」の解説
第一次世界大戦期、コルチャックはロシア軍の従軍医として召集され、その間、ドム・シェロトの運営は同僚のステファニア・ヴィルチンスカが引き継いだ。駐屯地のキエフでいくつかの孤児院に医師としてかかわり、そこでポーランドの子供のための寄宿学校を運営していたマリア・ファルスカ（後の仕事上のパートナー）と出会う。 第一次世界大戦後に新生国家ポーランドの首都となったワルシャワで、帰還後のコルチャックは教育学的な著作『人はいかに子供を愛するのか』（1919年）を刊行するなど教育者としての活動にも力を注ぎ始めた。 コルチャックが子どもの権利の三つの大きな柱として掲げたのが「死についての子どもの権利」、「今日という日についての子どもの権利」、「あるがままである権利」である。子供も大人も各々の人格が尊重されなくてはならないという見解は今日なお重要性である。 ドム・シェロトでの仕事と平行して、コルチャックは1919年にマリア・ファルスカらと共同で孤児院ナシュ・ドム （ポーランド語で「われらの家」の意）を設立した。当初はプルシュクフに置かれ、1928年以降ワルシャワ郊外のビェラヌイに移された。ここには寄宿学校も置かれ、二年間（1932/1933年度と1933/1934年度 ）の短い期間ではあるが教育機関としての機能も果たした。また、コルチャックは地下組織による非合法の大学でも教鞭を執っている。 1926年からは地域裁判所で教育問題に関する専門家として顧問を務め、1926年から1930年までは、子供新聞『小評論』の編集長も引き受けた。児童書や教育論に関する著作も数多く著している。1935年から36年にはポーランドのラジオ放送で子供たちとのおしゃべりを楽しむ「老博士」（Stary Doktor）として登場した。
