アンティファ

アンティファ（ANTIFA）は「anti-fascism（反ファシズム）」あるいは「anti-fascist（反ファシズム主義者）」の略であり、ファシズム体制への抵抗・抗議を旗印とする極左的な活動ムーブメントの呼び名である。近年では米国における活動が活発化している。
BBCラジオの解説に拠れば、アンティファそのものの起源は1920～1930年代ヨーロッパにおける反ファシズム闘争に遡ることができる。今日のアメリカにおけるアンティファは1980年代に現れ、2000年代は鳴りを潜めていたが、トランプ政権の発足とオルタナ右翼の台頭に抗して再び勢いを増したという。
アンティファは思想に共感した民衆を主とする草の根的な繋がりである。指導者が統率するような組織ではない。党是のようなももがあるわけでもない。温厚な穏健主義者も少なくないはずではあるが、攻撃・襲撃・破壊活動を厭わず積極的に行う凶暴な者が目につく。
もっとも、それはアンティファの活動に乗じているだけであったり、他意あって他の者を煽動していたりする可能性もなくはない。
なおアンティファの活動に参加する者は「覆面と黒づくめの格好」をする習わしがある。
2020年5月25日、米国ミネソタ州において、黒人（アフリカ系アメリカ人）男性が白人の警察官にひどい取り押さえられ方をして死亡するという事件が発生した。この事件を契機に、黒人差別に抗議する大規模なデモ活動が全米に広がった。一部では放火騒ぎなどに発展している。
ドナルド・トランプ大統領は5月31日、一連の抗議デモはアンティファの先導によるものとし、アンティファをテロ組織に指定する意向をツイートした。もっとも、米国で実際にアンティファをテロ組織に指定することは憲法上無理があるという。
