性差

性差（せいさ）とは、雌雄の動物（ヒトにおける男性と女性）の性別的な差異のことである。第一次性徴および第二次性徴といった生物学的な違いのみでなく、職業適性・価値志向の違い等、社会的・心理的な差異（これを第三次性徴と呼ぶ考えもある）を指す。「生物学的」「心理的」「社会的」に大別できる[要出典]。

  1. ^ ただし、性器以外でも骨盤の形状が生まれつき性差があるため、第一次性徴でもウエストからヒップにかけて若干の性差はある。
  2. ^ ヒト以外の動物でも、一般的に出産する個体を雌とする。
  3. ^ ただし、同じくOECDが実施している国際的な成人スキル調査（PIAAC）によると、読解力の男女差は20代半ば頃にはほぼ消失する[22]。なお、数学的リテラシーの男女差は成人になっても残り、男女の賃金格差の部分的な理由になっているという見方も存在する[23]。
