低酸素血症
健常人の動脈血中には88±７ mmHg（Torr）の酸素（O２）分圧が保たれている。正常値以下は低酸素血症である。60 Torr以下を呼吸不全といい、60～70 Torrを準呼吸不全状態という。低酸素血症の患者は、呼吸困難、チアノーゼのほか、精神・神経障害、循環器障害を起こしやすい。呼吸困難は呼吸数増加、労作時息切れから始まり、精神障害・神経障害には不安、意識障害、視力障害、判断力低下など、循環器障害では血圧上昇、不整脈、四肢の冷感などが見られる。原因は、気管支喘息、肺気腫、肺線維症など肺におけるガス交換の低下、動静脈の混合するシャントなど。喘息や肺気腫では低換気になると、炭酸ガス（CO２）が蓄積されてCO２分圧が45 Torrを超えることがある（高炭酸ガス血症）。

低酸素血症（ていさんそけつしょう、英: Hypoxemia）は、血液中の酸素濃度が異常に低い状態である[1][2]。より具体的には、動脈血の酸素欠乏である[3]。低酸素血症（hypoxemia）[注釈 1]には多くの原因があるが、血液が体の組織に十分に酸素を供給しないため低酸素症（hypoxia）を引き起こすことが多い。
