トルコ‐だいじしん〔‐ダイヂシン〕【トルコ大地震】

読み方：とるこだいじしん

1999年8月 17日、トルコ北西部で発生したマグニチュード7.8の地震。死者約1万 7000人、被災建物約24 万 4000棟など、甚大な被害があった。トルコ北部には全長 1000 キロメートルにおよぶ北アナトリア断層が走っており、この断層沿いでは過去にマグニチュード7級の地震が多発していた。
