《theater nuclear force》戦域核戦力。戦場およびその周辺で地域的に限られた目標を攻撃する核戦力。一般的には、IRBM（中距離弾道ミサイル）、MRBM（準中距離弾道ミサイル）などのミサイル、大口径火砲、爆撃機、艦艇などの核運搬手段のほか、核地雷などから構成される。

腫瘍壊死因子（しゅようえしいんし、英: Tumor Necrosis Factor, TNF）とは、サイトカインの1種であり、狭義にはTNFはTNF-α、TNF-β（リンホトキシン（LT）-α）およびLT-βの3種類である。TNF-αは主にマクロファージにより産生されており、固形がんに対して出血性の壊死を生じさせるサイトカインとして発見された。腫瘍壊死因子と言えば一般にTNF-αを指していることが多い。これらの分子は同じの受容体を介して作用し、類似した生理作用を有する。広義にTNFファミリーと称する場合にはFasリガンドやCD40リガンド等の少なくとも19種類以上の分子が含まれる。本稿では狭義のTNFについて述べる。
