5.56x45mm NATO弾（5.56ミリ ナトーだん、英語: 5.56 mm x 45 Ammunition）とは、北大西洋条約機構（NATO）により標準化された小火器用の実包。中間弾薬としての性格が強い小口径高速弾である。
注釈
- ^ レミントン社はスプリングフィールド造兵廠とも弾薬の共同開発を行っており、これは.224スプリングフィールド弾として完成したが、後にスプリングフィールド造兵廠が開発から撤退したこともあって、1958年に市販された際の名称は.222レミントン・マグナム弾となった[2]。
- ^ 近距離ではM193普通弾と大差ないが、M16小銃で射撃した場合、120m以上の距離で殺傷性能の向上が確かめられている[10]。
- ^ その後、2022年4月19日、米陸軍の次世代分隊火器プログラム（NGSW計画）において、SIG MCX SPEAR小銃とともに、その使用弾薬として6.8x51mm弾（.277 Fury）の採用が決定された[15][16]。
