ケルビン【kelvin】
読み方：けるびん
国際単位系（SI）の基本単位で、絶対温度（熱力学温度）の単位。初め水の三重点の熱力学温度の273.16分の1とされたが、2019年5月20日以降は、物理定数のボルツマン定数を用いる定義が適用された。英国の物理学者ケルビンの名にちなむ。記号K

「SI基本単位の再定義 (2019年)」の記事における「ケルビン」の解説
ケルビンの定義は根本的に変更された。旧定義は、水の状態が変化する温度を用いて温度目盛りを定義するものであるが、新しい定義ではボルツマン定数を用いて温度と等価のエネルギーにより表現される。この変更により、ケルビンの定義は秒、メートル、キログラムの定義に依存することになった。 旧定義 The kelvin, unit of thermodynamic temperature, is the fraction 1/273.16 of the thermodynamic temperature of the triple point of water.日本語訳: 熱力学温度の単位ケルビンは、水の三重点の熱力学温度の 1/273.16 である。 新定義 The kelvin, symbol K, is the SI unit of thermodynamic temperature.
