偽りのバランス

偽りのバランス（いつわりのバランス、英語: false balance）は、英語では bothsidesism とも称されるメディア・バイアスのひとつ。対立している見解の間で、実際にはそれぞれの見解を裏付ける証拠のありように大きな違いがあるにもかかわらず、あたかも両者のバランスが拮抗しているかのように、ジャーナリストが問題を提示するというもの。ジャーナリストは、両方の立場をそれぞれ裏付ける実際の証拠の比重に見合わない形で証拠や議論を提示したり、一方の主張に根拠がないことを立証できるかもしれない情報を除去したりすることがある。
