宗教的ではないがスピリチュアル（しゅうきょうてきではないがスピリチュアル、英: Spiritual but not religious、略してSBNR）、所属しないがスピリチュアル（英: Spiritual but not affiliated、略してSBNA）、やや一般的でない表現として宗教的であるよりもスピリチュアル（英: more spiritual than religious）とは、自分の霊的ないし精神的成長（英語版）にとって、組織宗教（英語版）を唯一もしくはもっとも価値のある手段と考えない人生観を自己表現するため、おもにアメリカ合衆国において用いられる、一般的なフレーズである^[1]。

^ リンダ・メルカダンテによれば、宗教という概念は社会的構築物であるから、ほかの時代においては、宗教と文化、ナショナル・アイデンティティはしばしば不可分なものとなる。また、スピリチュアリティについては、古い概念に新しい用法が加わっている。かつての時代においては、現在「スピリチュアリティ（spirituality）」と呼ばれるものは、「信心（piety）」と呼ばれていた。メルカダンテは、宗教は神話、象徴、儀式、概念の適応性のある複雑なネットワークであり、感情、思考、行動の様式を同時に形作り、意味と目的の安定した構造を破壊すると考えている。このように考えたとき、宗教とは明らかに宗教的な理念および実践だけでなく、通常は宗教と結びつくことのない幅広い文化的現象も含むものであることになる。多くの人は、スピリチュアリティという言葉を、共同体的・組織的な要素の必要性を意図した、自らの信仰に関する内的生活について言及するために用いる。メルカダンテは、スピリチュアリティと宗教をいずれも4つの基本的要素、すなわち信仰（belief）・望み（desire）・儀式（rituals）・行動の期待（behavioural expectations）から構成されるものであると考えているが、宗教学において、その定義はさまざまである^[2]。
