熱膨張

圧力が一定の場合、固体、液体、気体のいずれもそれらの温度が上昇すると体積は増大する。この現象を熱膨張という。単位温度当たりの熱膨張の度合いを熱膨張率といい、物質によって異なる。精密機械や精密測定器機は熱膨張による構造体の変形で加工精度や測定精度が低下するのを避けるため恒温室に設置されることが多い。

熱膨張（ねつぼうちょう、英語: Thermal expansion）は、温度上昇に応じて物質の形状・面積・体積が膨張したり密度が変化する性質であり、一般的に相転移現象は含めない[1]。
