コロナ[1] (ラテン語: corona) 、または太陽コロナ[2]（たいようコロナ、solar corona）は、太陽の外層大気の最も外側にある、100万ケルビン (K) を超える希薄なガスの層である[1]。corona はラテン語で「冠」を意味する言葉で、古代ギリシア語でガーランドやリースを意味する κορώνη に由来する。
