Microsoft .NET Framework version 2.0 では、XmlValidatingReader クラスは使用されなくなりました。検証を実行する XmlReader のインスタンスは、XmlReaderSettings クラスおよび Create メソッドを使用して作成できます。詳細については、「XmlReader による XML データの検証」を参照してください。

XmlSchemaCollection は、あらかじめ読み込んだ XML-Data Reduced (XDR) と XML スキーマ定義言語 (XSD) スキーマを保持します。このプロパティは、リーダーにスキーマのキャッシュへのアクセス権を与え、リーダーは毎回スキーマを読み込み直さずに検証できます。リーダーは、XmlSchemaCollection に何も追加しません。

XmlSchemaCollection に、他の名前空間を参照する include 要素または import 要素を格納する XML スキーマ (XSD) が含まれている場合は、他の名前空間のスキーマが検証目的のためだけに読み込まれます。これらのスキーマが明示的にスキーマコレクションに追加されていない場合、コレクションメソッドやプロパティを使用してアクセスできません。たとえば、スキーマファイル b.xsd への参照を含むスキーマファイル a.xsd がコレクションに含まれている場合、コレクションメソッドまたはプロパティを使用してアクセスできるためには、あらかじめスキーマコレクションに b.xsd を追加する必要があります。

Schemas プロパティを使用して XmlSchemaCollection にアクセスする場合、XmlSchemaCollection.Add メソッドは XmlValidatingReader.XmlResolver プロパティで指定された XmlResolver を使用します。
