スーパーモデル（Supermodel）とは、ファッションモデルの中でも特に有名で、世界的な知名度と破格のギャランティーを誇るモデルを指す言葉。「スーパーモデル」という言葉は1990年代に広く知られるようになり[2]、数百万ドルの報酬と引き換えに有名高級ブランドのオートクチュールや、商業広告に登場することが多い[3][4][5][6]。またスーパーモデルは世界中の雑誌の表紙を飾る機会が多いが、これについてスーパーモデルと広く認知されているモデルの一人であるクラウディア・シファーは「スーパーモデルになるためには、誰もがその子の存在を知りえるように、世界中の雑誌の表紙を常に飾り続けなければならない」と述べている[7][8][2]。
