ヨルダン内戦（ヨルダンないせん）は、1970年にヨルダンにおいて発生したヨルダン政府とパレスチナ解放機構（PLO）との内戦。9月に発生したことから黒い九月事件（ブラック・セプテンバー事件）と呼ばれることもある。

詳細は「ヨルダン内戦」を参照 シリア方面では、1969年2月28日の政変でハーフィズ・アル＝アサド国防相が実権を握ったあと、1970年11月のクーデターで全権を握った。これに前後してアサドは当時ヨルダン政府とパレスチナ解放機構（以下PLO）との間で戦闘が行われていた（ヨルダン内戦）ヨルダンに介入し、陸軍をヨルダンに侵入させ、PLO支援を図った。このままではヨルダンとシリアの戦争に発展してしまうことは明らかであった。そこで、アメリカは空母部隊を地中海のイスラエル沖に派遣し、ヨルダンの行動を支持すると共に、軍事介入したシリアに対する牽制とした。イスラエルは地上部隊をゴラン高原に展開し、シリア軍に対して警戒を強めた。当初はこのヨルダンの混乱に乗じてイスラエルが軍事作戦を展開する動きもあったが、その計画は見送られた。 結局、ナセルがヨルダン・シリア・PLOの仲介に入り、PLOは受け入れを表明したレバノンへ本部を移転させることとなり、ヨルダン政府軍、PLOとシリア軍は停戦した。この結果、PLOは指導部と主力部隊をレバノンに移した。
