ネジレバネ

ネジレバネ(撚翅)は、ネジレバネ目(撚翅目、学名: Strepsiptera、英語発音: [strɛpˈsɪptərə])に属する昆虫の総称。ネジレバネ目は11科600種を内包する。ハチ類、ヨコバイ、シミ、ゴキブリなどの仲間に寄生して生活し、特に同目のほとんどの種のメスは一度宿主の体内に寄生したら出て来ることなくそのまま一生を終える。初齢の幼虫は孵化したら一度宿主を離れ、宿主となる寄生されていない昆虫を探し始める。また、オスは宿主に寄生している交尾前のメスを探すために成虫になると宿主から離れる[1]。約3億 - 3憶5000万年前に分岐したとされる甲虫類が最も近縁であると考えられているが、化石記録が認められるのは約1億年ほど前の白亜紀中期以降である[2]。
