ブルートゥース‐ローエナジー【Bluetooth Low Energy】

読み方：ぶるーとぅーすろーえなじー

無線接続の通信規格Bluetooth(ブルートゥース)の拡張使用の一。ボタン電池程度の低電力で動作する。2.4ギガヘルツ帯の電波を用い、最大転送速度1Mbpsの無線通信が可能。従来のBluetoothとの互換性はない。各種小型センサーやウエアラブル端末で採用されている。ブルートゥースLE。BLE。

Bluetooth Low Energy

Bluetooth Low Energy (Bluetooth LE, BLE) とは、無線PAN技術である Bluetooth の一部で、バージョン 4.0 から追加になった低消費電力の通信モード。Bluetooth は Bluetooth Basic Rate/Enhanced Data Rate (BR/EDR) と Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) から構成される[1]。

サイプレスは、2014年からBluetooth Low Energyモジュールを搭載したPSoC4 BLE(Bluetooth Smart)の提供を開始した。ユーザーはPSoCの開発環境を利用することによりBLEモジュールを追加できる。PSoC 6シリーズには、Bluetooth 5規格に準拠したBLEモジュールが追加された。

「Apache Mynewt」の記事における「Bluetooth Low Energy」の解説

Apache MyNewtで最初に利用可能になったネットワークスタックはBluetooth Low Energyであり、NimBLEと呼ばれた。NimBLEはBluetooth Core Specification 4.2に準拠している。 NimBLEは、ホストとコントローラーの両方を含んでいる。コントローラーのソースコードにアクセスすることで、BLEのパフォーマンスは高度に調整可能である。例えば、接続時間間隔やデータパケットサイズ、パケットキューサイズなどを調整することで、BLEのスループットを調整できる。同時接続数が多数である場合も同様に調整可能である、十分な量のRAMの割り当てが必要である。利用可能なサービスの使い方を示す例としてパッケージにアプリケーションが含まれている。
