Isotopes of thoriumとは？わかりやすく解説

トリウム(Th)は、安定同位体を持たないが、²³²Thだけはほぼ安定といえる。地球上の同位体組成が定まっているため、標準原子量は定めることができる。標準原子量は232.03806(2) uである。

トリウムの同位体のうち、アクチニウム系列、トリウム系列、ウラン系列に属する同位体は以下の別名でも知られている：

ラジオアクチニウム (radio-actinium) : ²²⁷Th
ラジオトリウム (radio-thorium) : ²²⁸Th
イオニウム (ionium) : ²³⁰Th
ウランY (uranium Y) : ²³¹Th
ウランX₁ (uranium X₁) : ²³⁴Th

27個の放射性同位体が同定されていて、最も豊富で安定な²³²Thの半減期は140.5億年である。²³⁰Thの半減期は75380年、²²⁹Thの半減期は7340年、²²⁸Thの半減期は1.92年である。その他は全て30日以下であり、そのほとんどは10分以下である。²²⁹Thには、励起エネルギー（7.6 ± 0.5 eV^[1]）の極めて低い核異性体が存在する^[2]。

トリウムの既知の同位体の原子量は、209^[3]から238の間である。
