「accountable」とは・「accountable」の意味

「accountable」とは、責任を持つべき、説明責任がある、という意味を持つ形容詞である。品詞は形容詞であり、他の人や組織に対して、自分の行動や決定に対する責任を持つことを表す。

「accountable」の覚え方

「accountable」を覚える際には、「account」と「able」の2つの部分に分けて考えると良い。英語で「account」は「説明」や「報告」といった意味を持ち、「able」は「～ができる」という意味を持つ。この2つを組み合わせることで、「説明ができる」つまり「説明責任がある」という意味になる。
