精子発生 (せいしはっせい、英: spermatogenesis)は、オスの始原生殖細胞から有糸分裂および減数分裂を通じて精子が形成される過程である。この経路における初期の細胞は精原細胞であり、精原細胞の有糸分裂によって一次精母細胞が形成される。一次精母細胞は2つの二次精母細胞に減数分裂(減数分裂第一分裂)する。それぞれの二次精母細胞が減数分裂第二分裂をし、2つの精細胞に分かれる。精細胞は成熟し、精子に分化する。このように、一次精母細胞から2つの二次精母細胞が生じ、それらがさらに分裂して4つの二次精母細胞になり、それぞれが4つの精子となる[1]。
