マサチューセッツ州（マサチューセッツしゅう、英: Commonwealth of Massachusetts、[ˌmæsəˈtʃuːsɪts] (
音声ファイル)）は、アメリカ合衆国の州。北東部ニューイングランド6州の一つでもある。独立13州の一つ。マサチューセッツ州は「州」(State) の代わりにコモンウェルスを使っているが、日本語では他州と同様に「州」と訳されている。2020年国勢調査時点での人口は7,029,917人である[1]。アメリカ合衆国の誕生から政治・経済・商工業・文化・教育の中心地として、リーダー的役割を果たしてきた。名称は、先住民のマサチューセッツ人に由来する。

マサチューセッツ湾交通局（MBTA:Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority）は1,150台のバスで約180路線を運行し、現在の平日平均乗車人数は27万6,000人である。2019年、MBTAはローガン空港、ボストン南駅、チャイナタウンなどに乗り入れるシルバーライン用に、60フィートのバッテリー電気バスを5台購入した。その経験を生かし、2040年までに完全な電気自動車運行を行う予定である。
