　もともとは、波をテイクオフしてボトムに滑り降りる事を指したが、最近では、すでに他のサーファーがライディングを始めているのに、同じ波にテイクオフしてしまうことを指すようにもなった。この行為はフリーサーフィンでも御法度だが、コンテストでは妨害ルールを適用され、失格或いは減点の対象となる。後乗りとも言う。
