西サハラの歴史

西サハラの歴史（にしサハラのれきし）は、紀元前5世紀のカルタゴの冒険者であった航海者ハンノの時代まで遡ることができる。それ以前にも僅かに歴史的記録は見られるものの、西サハラに於ける近代的な意味での歴史のルーツはベルベル人部族の支配下にあったいくつかの遊牧民にあり、イスラム教とアラビア語の導入は8世紀からである。
