リヤド・エア（Riyadh Air）は、2025年10月26日より運航を開始する予定の航空会社[3][4]。サウディアに次ぐサウジアラビア第二の国営航空会社となる[8][9]。
歴史
- 2023年3月12日：サウジアラビアの皇太子であるムハンマド・ビン・サルマーンが、リヤドを拠点とする新たな国営航空会社のリヤド・エアの設立を発表した[8][9]。
- 2023年3月14日：ボーイング787-9を確定39機、オプション33機の計72機発注した[10][11]。
- 2023年6月4日：ボーイング787-9に施された塗装を公開した[12]。また、国際航空運送協会(IATA)から航空コードである「RX」が付与された[13]。
- 2023年6月13日：サウジアラビア民間航空総局(GACA)がリヤド・エアに定期旅客航空輸送経済ライセンスを付与した[14]。
- 2023年8月10日：初のスポーツスポンサーとして、スペインのサッカークラブであるアトレティコ・マドリードと契約を行った[15][16]。
- 2023年11月14日：初の提携航空会社として、サウディアと提携を行う覚書を締結した[17]。
- 2024年10月20日：エスタディオ・メトロポリターノの命名権を購入し、「リヤド・エア・メトロポリターノ」と命名された[18]。
- 2024年10月30日：同社初のエアバス機であるエアバスA321neoを60機発注した[19][20]。
- 2025年1月：予備機、訓練機としてボーイング787-9を1機リースで導入し[21][22]、同社初の保有機となった。
- 2025年4月：GACAより、航空運送事業許可(AOC)を取得した[23]。
- 2025年6月16日：パリ航空ショーでエアバスA350-1000を確定25機、オプション25機の計50機発注した[24][25]。
- 2025年8月7日：アマデウスITグループとの提携を発表[26][27]。これの一環としてアマデウスはリヤド・エア向けのNDC(New Distribution Capability)コンテンツの配信も行う。

マイレージサービスにはアラビア語で「大使」を意味する"Sfeer"という名前のマイレージサービスが使用される[4]。
