重感染
【概要】 ある慢性感染症の上に似たような感染症があとから起こること。HIV感染症にC型肝炎ウイルス、B型肝炎ウイルス、それらの2つあるいは3つの重複がある。他にHIV-1とHIV-2の組み合わせ、HIVとHTLV-Iの組み合わせもある。さらに一度HIVに感染した人が、後から別のHIVに感染した報告もある。別の人のHIVは別の薬剤に耐性である可能性もある。HIV感染者同士も安全な性行為が勧められる。
【補足】 単独の慢性感染症の自然経過とは違ったものになる可能性がある。例えばHIV感染症はC型肝炎の経過を早めてしまうと考えられている。一方、G型肝炎ウイルス(GBV-C)の重感染があるとHIV感染症の自然経過が緩やかになることが示されているが、なぜなのかはわかっていない。

重複感染(ちょうふくかんせん、英: coinfection、同時感染)とは、1つの宿主に2つ以上の病原体が同時に感染する事を指す。逐次的に感染する重感染(superinfection)と対比される。
