大異教軍（だいいきょうぐん）、大異教徒軍（英語: Great Heathen Army、古英語: mycel hæþen here）、大軍勢（英語: Great Army）または大デンマーク^{[注釈 1]}軍（英語: Great Danish Army）とは、865年もしくは866年^{[注釈 2]}に、キリスト教徒のアングロ・サクソン人が治めるイングランドに侵攻したノース人（ヴァイキング）の軍勢のことである。イースト・アングリア王国、マーシア王国、ノーサンブリア王国を打倒し、ウェセックス王国を滅亡寸前まで追い込み、イングランドのほぼ全域を征服した。現代のデンマークに居住していた人々を中心に、スカンディナヴィア半島やフリースラント、西フランク王国などヨーロッパ各地にいたヴァイキングによる大連合軍であった。

注釈

^ アングロサクソン年代記はヴァイキングを「デーン人」「異教徒」「ノース人」と呼んでいるが、実際にはデーン人以外にもスウェーデン人やノルウェー人、フリース人も含まれていた^[1]。
^ アングロサクソン年代記では、大異教軍の侵攻開始は866年の項に記されている。ただし878年にウェセックスに移動した時を除けば、大異教軍は年の暮れ（おそらく収穫後）から年明けにかけて移動を行っているため、年代記の記述と実際の年にずれが生じている部分がある。開始年については、865年末に上陸し、866年末になってからノーサンブリアへ移動を開始したものと考えられる^[2]。
^ 「ヴァイキング」という語は、歴史的に再現された言葉である。中英語にはこの語彙がないのだが、古ノルド語では「海賊」を意味するvikingr（原義は「小川（フィヨルドから来た者）」）という語があった。しかし、古英語にはwicing、古フリース語にはwizingという古ノルド語の語彙より300年も古い語があり、こちらが「ヴァイキング」という言葉の起源だとすれば、wicがラテン語のvicusに繋がり、原義は「村人」「野営地の者」であった可能性がある。実際、ヴァイキングは襲撃の際に野営地を設営するのが常だった^[8]。
