エンタープライズアーキテクチャとは、企業をはじめとする組織体において、組織の目的を効率よく実現するために、組織構造や業務手順、情報システムなどを最適化する手法のことである。
エンタープライズアーキテクチャでは、主に全体最適の視点に立ち、経営戦略から組織の構成、各部署の業務内容、部署間の連携、情報システムなどの多様な要素について階層構造として把握し、その全体を考慮する。複雑化した組織を包括的に見直すことで、重複しているコストの削減や、組織全体を対象に総合的な効率化を図ることが期待できる。
エンタープライズアーキテクチャを導入するためには、時間的・資金的にある程度のコストを要するが、効率化と運用コストの削減によって、利益につながるものとされる。組織が肥大化した大企業ほど、エンタープライズアーキテクチャに対する需要は高い。
エンタープライズアーキテクチャのフレームワークとして有名なものに、ザックマンフレームワークがある。ザックマンフレームワークは、汎用的な性格をもっており、実施にあたっては具体的な策への落とし込みを要するケースが多い。

エンタープライズアーキテクチャ（英: enterprise architecture、EA) は構成要素（事業エンティティ）、それらの構成要素の外的に見える特性、及びそれらの間の関係を含む、事業構造の厳格な記述である[1][2]。EAは、用語、要素の構成、及びその外的環境とのそれらの関係、及び 要求分析、設計とエンタープライズの進化のための原則のガイドを記述する。 この記述は、事業体の目標、事業プロセス、役割、組織的構造、組織的振舞、事業情報、ソフトウェア・アプリケーション、及びコンピュータ・システムを含む、包括的である。
