CENP-A（centromere protein A）は、ヒトではCENPA遺伝子にコードされるタンパク質である[5]。CENP-AはヒストンH3のバリアントであり、ヒトを含む大部分の真核生物において各染色体上のキネトコアの位置の決定に重要な因子である[6]。
