ダリエン地峡

ダリエン地峡（ダリエンちきょう、英語: Darién Gap）、もしくはダリエン・ギャップは、北アメリカ大陸と南アメリカ大陸とをつなぐ地峡部分において、最も南アメリカ大陸に近い区間である。中央アメリカのパナマのダリエン県と、南アメリカのコロンビアのチョコ県北部にまたがっており、21世紀初頭においても開発の手があまり及んでいない沼地や熱帯雨林が残る地帯である。そして2018年現在も南北アメリカ大陸を縦断するパン・アメリカン・ハイウェイにおける未開通区間となっている。この区間はパナマのヤビサに始まってコロンビアのトゥルボまで106kmにわたって延びている[1]。この地域への道路建設には多額の費用と多大な環境への負荷がかかり、建設に向けた政治的合意は、2024年現在もなされていない。
