μTorrent（マイクロトレント、ミュートレント、uTorrent（ユートレント）詳細は後述、略称はμTもしくはuT)とは、BitTorrent, Inc.によって開発されているフリーウェア・クローズドソースのBitTorrentクライアントソフトである。WindowsとmacOSで利用できる。どちらのバージョンもC++で記述されている。[1]名前のμはSI接頭語において100万分の一を意味する「マイクロ」からとられたもので、μTorrentのメモリ使用量の小ささを表している。μTorrentは、VuzeやBitCometなどと比較して、機能を使用している際に使うコンピュータリソースを小さくするよう設計されている。
