ニューギニアワニ（一般和名）； ラージクロコ
商業名：Freshwater Crocodile
学名：Crocodylus novaeguineae
日本で最も多く使用されているワニ革です。腹部の鱗は正方形に近く、鱗の大きさは、スモールスケールタイプより大きく、頸から肛門までの鱗の横列の数は約24～32列あります。
生息地は、パプアニューギニア、インドネシアなどの淡水の沼や川です。この皮の多くは、野生のもので、主に日本やシンガポールに輸出されています。
用途は、ハンドバッグ、ベルト、時計バンド、小物類等です。

オーストラリアワニ（濠太剌利鰐、Crocodylus johnsoni）はクロコダイル属に分類されるワニの一種。特定動物。別名ジョンストンワニ。危険を感じると走って(ギャロップで)逃げ去ることで有名である[3]。
