News 12 New Jerseyは市内で視聴率の高い天気予報とニュースのテレビ局である。

2008年、エリザベス市は「ポピュラーサイエンス」誌によって「アメリカの環境に優しい都市50」の一つに選ばれ、ニュージャージー州では唯一となった。順位は45位であり、カリフォルニア州フリーモントとミシガン州リボニアの間である。
