メタ存在論

メタ存在論（Meta-ontology）とは、ピーター・ヴァン・インワーゲン（Peter van Inwagen）による造語であり、ウィラード・ヴァン・オーマン・クワインによるルドルフ・カルナップの形而上学批判を分析する際に初めて用いられた[1]。当該の批判において、クワインは存在論を比較する際に存在論的コミットメントを確定するための形式的手法を導入した[2]。
