ジミー・クリフ（Jimmy Cliff OM、1948年4月1日 - )は、ジャマイカ人レゲエ・シンガー。本名ジェイムズ・チェンバース(James Chambers)。1960年代初頭から音楽活動を開始していた。
略歴
ジャマイカがイギリスから独立した年でもある1962年にデビュー。同年には、「ディアレスト・ビヴァリー」を発表。同名のレストランに売り込みをかけ、レコーディング費用を捻出したというエピソードがある。
1965年に、活動の場をロンドンに移し、1967年にファースト・アルバム『ハード・ロード・トゥ・トラベル』を発表。1970年にキャット・スティーヴンスの「ワイルド・ワールド」をカヴァーし、全英8位を記録した。この曲は、後にＵＫレゲエ・シンガー、マキシ・プリーストも取り上げた。
1972年にはジャマイカの状況を描いた映画『ハーダー・ゼイ・カム』[注 1]に主演。主題曲の「ザ・ハーダー・ゼイ・カム」のほか映画のサウンドトラック盤にも参加し、ジャマイカ、イギリスなどで有名になった[1]。77年以降、ボブ・マーリィやサード・ワールドとともに、日本に紹介される。1978年、来日公演を行った。
1985年発表のアルバム『クリフハンガー』でグラミー賞を受賞。
1993年、映画『クール・ランニング』の主題歌「アイ・キャン・シー・クリアリー・ナウ」（ジョニー・ナッシュのカヴァー）が大ヒット。
1999年、イベント「ジャパンスプラッシュ」で来日、トリを務めた。 21世紀に入っても現役で活動を続ける。
80年代にはローリング・ストーンズの『ダーティ・ワーク』にゲスト参加。「トゥー・ルード」で、キース・リチャーズとのデュエットを披露。ジミーの作品『ブラック・マジック』に、元ザ・クラッシュのジョー・ストラマーがゲスト参加。
