マン島（マンとう、マン島語: Ellan Vannin、またはMannin、英語: Isle of Man または Mann）は、グレートブリテン島とアイルランド島に囲まれたアイリッシュ海の中央に位置する島。面積は約572平方キロメートル (km2)[3]。主都はダグラス。人口は90,895人（2021年推計[1]）。

マン島には、9世紀以来ヴァイキング（ノース人）が定住し、一時期は独立したマン島王国 (Kingdom of Mann and the Isles) の中心であった。13世紀以降、スコットランド独立戦争を背景として、マン島の領有権はスコットランドとイングランドとの間で争われ、14世紀半ばにイングランドの勢力下に入る。この過程の1333年、イングランド王エドワード3世は封臣であるウィリアム・モンタギュー（英語版）にマン島王 (King of Mann) の称号を認め、独立王国としての体裁をとらせた。1399年、ヘンリー4世はマン島王を処刑し、マン島はイングランド王の直轄領となった。 1405年、ヘンリー4世はジョン・スタンリー（英語版）に「マン島王」の称号と領主権を与え、以後スタンリー家（のちのダービー伯爵家）が、中断を含みつつも18世紀初頭まで島の領主を務めた。なお、1504年以降「マン島王」に代わり「マン島領主」 (Lord of Mann) の称号が使用されるようになった。1765年、当時のマン島領主は封建的諸権利をイギリスに売却し、マン島は王室属領となった。このときのマン島購入法 (Isle of Man Purchase Act 1765) は復帰法（Act of Revestment）とも呼ばれる。以後、「マン島領主」（Lord of Mann）の称号は連合王国の君主が併せ持つこととなった。

マン島では、正式な免許を得てから1年間は、北アイルランドと同様な白地に赤の「R」が書かれたプレートを付ける必要があるほか、最高速度は50mph（約80km/h）に制限される。

マン島政府は「共通旅行区域外からマン島に入国する交通手段がほとんどないため、マン島では入国管理がほとんど行われない」と報告している。2018年4月現在、マン島と共通旅行区域外の空港間の唯一の定期民間空路はスイスのジュネーブのみである。 マン島は関税に関してはイギリスの一部とみなされているため、イギリスから到着する旅行者に対する定期的な通関手続きは行われていない。
