学位・称号

【英】：Academic Degree

学位とは、大学の卒業者、大学院課程の修了者、短期大学の卒業者に対して授与されるものである。学位規則に基づく学位として、学士・修士・博士・専門職学位・短期大学士がある。また、機構が授与する学位には、短期大学卒業者や高等専門学校卒業者等がさらに一定の学修を行った場合に与えられる学士と、機構が認定した学校以外の教育施設（各省庁大学校）の課程の修了者に対する学士・修士・博士がある。なお、高等専門学校が授与する準学士及び専門学校が授与する専門士及び高度専門士は称号として位置付けられている。

A qualification conferred upon students who successfully complete academic programs of universities, graduate schools and junior colleges. Current degrees included in the Rules for Degrees are Bachelor's, Master's, Doctoral, Professional and Associate Degrees. NIAD-UE awards Bachelor's Degrees to learners who fulfill additional academic achievements after graduation from junior colleges or colleges of technology, and Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral Degrees to those who successfully complete, at educational institutions set by ministries or agencies, a NIAD-UE-approved program. Colleges of technology and professional training colleges award titles or diplomas, not degrees.
