栄典
バックスはロイヤル・フィルハーモニック協会（1931年）とウォーシップフル・カンパニー・オブ・ミュージシャン（1931年）からゴールド・メダルを授与されており、室内音楽のためのコベットメダル（1931年）を獲得している。オックスフォード大学（1934年）、ダラム大学（1935年）、アイルランド国立大学（1947年）からは名誉博士号を贈られた。1955年にはヴォーン・ウィリアムズの手により、ユニバーシティ・カレッジ・コークにバックス記念室が設置された[71]。1937年にナイトに叙された後、1953年にロイヤル・ヴィクトリア勲章（KVCO）に昇格している[1][88]。1993年にはバックスの生誕地であるストリーサム、ペンデニス通り13を記念し、イングリッシュ・ヘリテッジのブルー・プラークが除幕された[111]。
1992年にケン・ラッセルは、バックスの晩年をドラマ化したテレビ映画『The Secret Life of Arnold Bax』を制作した。ラッセル自身がバックスを演じ、政治家としてのキャリアを目指して23年間女優業から離れることになるグレンダ・ジャクソンが、休業前の最後の役としてハリエット・コーエンを演じた[112]。
