SemEval (Semantic Evaluation)は、語義評価会のSensevalから発展した、計算意味解析システムの評価会である。この評価は、「言語における意味の本質を探る」ことを目的としている。人間にとって意味は直感的なものであるが、その直感を計算機解析に応用することは元来難しいとされてきた。
