低質量星

主星が進化して、赤色巨星となると、漸近巨星分枝とよばれる過程に入り、惑星状星雲を形成し始める。すると、主星の質量が小さくなり、大質量星の時と同様に、惑星の軌道は主星から遠ざかるようになる。 Planets in evolved binary systems, Hagai B.
