患者が管理する鎮痛法

【原文】patient-controlled analgesia

pca。使用する鎮痛剤の量を患者自身が管理する鎮痛法。鎮痛が必要になったときには、体内に挿入した細いチューブにつながったコンピュータ式のポンプのボタンを押すことで、あらかじめ設定された分量の鎮痛剤が体内に投与される。「pca」とも呼ばれる。

患者管理鎮痛法(かんじゃかんりちんつうほう、英：Patient-controlled_analgesia、PCA^[1])は、痛みを感じている人が自分で鎮痛剤を投与できるようにする方法である^[2]。
