ホワイトウォッシング（英語: whitewashing）とは、映画業界などにおいて白人以外の役柄に白人俳優が配役されること。人種問題とともに、このような配役は不適切なものとみなされる場合が多い。日系アメリカ人活動家のガイ・アオキは「アフリカ系アメリカ人がホワイトウォッシングの対象であるのと同様にアジア系民族も経験している」と語った[1]。ネイティヴ・アメリカンにも同様のことがいえる[2]。
