血糖値の低下を促す目的で服用される薬物。ロシグリタゾンは、インスリンの作用を高めて血糖値の調節を改善するのに有用である。チアゾリジンジオンの一種である。

ロシグリタゾン（Rosiglitazone）はチアゾリジン系（TZD）抗糖尿病薬である。脂肪細胞のPPAR受容体に結合してインスリン抵抗性を改善する。商品名アバンディア、グラクソ・スミスクラインが販売する。単剤の製剤のほか、メトホルミンとの合剤やグリメピリドとの合剤がある。副作用情報により、ロシグリタゾンの使用量は劇的に減少した[1]。日本では承認されていない。
