ピーター・ノートンとは、米国の元プログラマーである。現在は画商をしている。1943年11月14日、ワシントン州に生まれた。
1980年代に「ピーター・ノートン・コンピューティング」社を創立し、コンピュータのシステム管理を行うためのソフトウェアを開発・販売した。代表的製品である「Norton Utilities」は、HDDやFDDのドライブ上で誤って削除されたファイルを復活させることができるという画期的な機能を備えたことなどを要因として世界中で爆発的ヒットを記録した。
1990年には自らの会社と製品群の一切をSymantec社に売却し、ソフトウェア開発から引退した。現在は、会社の売却益を元手に現代美術のコレクター兼画商として活動している。妻・アイリーン（Eileen Harris Norton）と共に設立した、ノートン・ファミリー財団（Norton Family Foundation）の代表でもある。
なお、売却されたソフトウェア製品群には、「Norton AntiVirus」「Norton Internet Security」「Norton System Works」など、現在でもノートンの名が冠されている。

ピーター・ノートン（Peter Norton、1943年11月14日 - ）は、アメリカ合衆国のプログラマ・ソフトウェア発行者・著述家・慈善家である。ノートン インターネットセキュリティなどの、彼の名前を冠し、パッケージに彼の肖像写真を使用していたコンピュータソフトウェアでよく知られている。
