小脳

小脳（しょうのう、英: cerebellum、ラテン語で「小さな脳」を意味する）は、脳の部位の名称。脳を背側から見たときに大脳の尾側に位置し、外観がカリフラワー状をし、脳幹の後ろの方からコブのように張り出した小さな器官である。脳幹と小脳の間には第四脳室が存在する。重さは成人で120〜140グラムで、脳全体の重さの10%強をしめ、大脳よりもはるかに多くの神経細胞がある。
