新聞社
名目上、ピューリッツアー賞の公益部門は報道機関にのみ授与され、個人には授与されない。稀に、応募の寄稿者が個別受賞者と似た方法で表彰に選出されることがある[14][15]。ジャーナリズム賞は、個人、新聞社、新聞社スタッフに授与されることがある。稀に、スタッフ賞の授与もまた著名な寄稿者の活動を際立たせる[16]。

- 1961年写真部門：『浅沼社会党委員長の暗殺』長尾靖（ながお・やすし。1930年-2009年）（毎日新聞）
- 1966年写真部門：『安全への逃避』沢田教一（さわだ・きょういち。1936年-1970年）（UPI通信社）
- ベトナム戦争で銃弾を避けながら河を渡ろうとする母子の姿を撮影した作品。
