ガレス・エヴァンズ（Gareth Evans、1946年5月12日 - 1980年8月10日）は、イギリスの哲学者。論理学、言語哲学、心の哲学に業績を残した。34歳没。

生涯

1946年5月12日、ロンドン生まれ。ダリッジ・カレッジを経て、オックスフォード大学ユニヴァーシティ・カレッジで、PPEを専攻した（1964年 - 1967年）。哲学の講師は、当時のオックスフォード大学で最も著名な哲学者の一人であるピーター・ストローソンであった。哲学者のデレク・パーフィットをはじめ、クリストファー・ピーコックやクリスピン・ライトといった同分野の著名人と親交を深めた。オックスフォード大学クライスト・チャーチの上級研究員（1967年 - 1968年）、ハーバード大学とカリフォルニア大学バークレー校のケネディ奨学生（1968年 - 1969年）を務めた。1980年、肺がんのためオックスフォードで34歳の若さで亡くなった。彼の論文集（1985年）とジョン・マクダウェル編著の『The Varieties of Reference』（1982年）が死後に出版された。
